How to Choose the Right Eyelash Glue for You

Any time you visit the London Lash website, you’ll find a wide range of lash glues. Why? Because finding the best eyelash glue is different for every Lash Tech. A wider range of adhesives means you’re more likely to find one that suits your application speed, salon conditions and current skill level.

Choosing an eyelash extension glue comes down to several factors. While a colleague may recommend an adhesive that transformed their application process, it may not be the best match for you.

      Before choosing your glue, check:

      1. Humidity: the humidity level in your salon, studio or beauty room.
      2. Temperature: the temperature around your workstation.
      3. Placement speed: how long it takes you to place an extension onto a natural lash after dipping it into the glue.

These factors help you select a suitable adhesive from the London Lash range. Each glue performs the same basic job, but its recommended working conditions and drying time differ. Refer to our Glue Chart to compare the options.

How Does Humidity Affect Eyelash Glue?

Every workspace has different humidity levels. To measure yours accurately, keep a digital hygrometer close to your workstation.

High humidity can make lash glue dry faster than its advertised time, particularly when conditions fall outside its recommended range. If the adhesive begins drying before the extension reaches the natural lash, the resulting bond may be weak and cause lash retention issues.

Low humidity can slow the drying process, especially if your adhesive is designed for higher humidity. You may need to hold each extension in position for longer, and extensions may lean after placement, affecting the fullness and top line of the set.

Slower drying can also prolong exposure to lash glue fumes and increase the likelihood of stickies. This can slow your application and leave you spending more time checking and separating lashes at the end of the treatment.

How Does Temperature Affect Eyelash Glue?

Temperature can affect how your adhesive behaves, so pay attention if it looks or performs differently from normal. Check that your working conditions are within the glue’s recommended range and that the bottle has been stored correctly.

For storage and handling advice, read our guide to getting the best out of your lash glue.

How Fast Do You Apply Eyelash Extensions?

As your experience grows, you may become faster at placing freshly dipped extensions. This is why experienced Lash Techs may prefer a faster-drying adhesive such as Royal Bond, with a drying time of 0.5–1 second, rather than Satin Bond, which has a 2-second drying time.

Time the interval between dipping an extension into the glue and placing it onto a natural lash. This helps you choose an adhesive that matches your placement speed.

Asking for a “fast glue” can mean different things to different Lash Techs. A 1-second adhesive might feel fast to you but too slow to someone with a quicker placement technique. Your own application speed and working conditions should guide your choice.
