So you’ve recently qualified in lash lift treatments or even better, InLei®'s Lash Filler (if you trained with London Lash Academy). If you don’t already know, make sure you check out our blog post discussing why we’re love and use InLei® here: Lash Lift FAQs, All Your Questions Answered.
We typically recommend buying a lash lift kit as a bundle, as it’s often significantly cheaper than if you were to buy all the products individually. London Lash provides several InLei® Lash Lift Kit options which have everything you need for the perfect Lash Filler treatment, but let’s break it down and look at the products in the kits, and the products you may need to purchase before getting started on clients.
Of course, prior to any lash lift, it's important to properly cleanse and prep the lashes, this is where the InLei® Pre-treatment Kit comes in handy. Once the lashes are prepped, the first group of products you will need in your beginner lash lift kit are the processing solutions. In terms of InLei®, this will consist of Form 1 (relaxing solution), Fix 2 (fixing solution) and Filler 3 (thickening and strengthening solution).
Form 1 and Fix 2 are the products that cause the chemical reaction which results in a lash lift. Filler 3 is the solution completely unique to InLei Lash Filler which is responsible for its ability to increase lash thickness by up to 24% over the course of 3 treatments, making it the first of its kind! Read our Step by Step Guide to Lash Filler here.
InLei® offers a variety of lash lift Silicone Shields, and it’s entirely up to you which one you want to work with after consulting with your client and assessing their eyelashes. InLei® Total Lash Curlers are the standard option - they come in a range of sizes, and you can select the correct one based on your client's lash length and curl. In the Total Lash Curlers box, you will get S, M, L, XL and S1, M1, L1 and XL1. The latter have a more natural curl, so are a good choice for clients who have very long natural lashes or lashes that already have a curl to them. You can also purchase the lash curlers in individual sizes if you find you use a certain size shield more often.
Forma Shields are the new and innovative lash shields on the block and they're already taking the lash lift industry by storm – for good reason. These shields are almost universal, meaning no wasting time picking and trying different-sized shields! They have been designed with the perfect shape to fit almost any eye, and give the most beautiful lift with no risk of kinks. They are also hypoallergenic and reusable time and time again. Find out The Difference Between Each Inlei® Lash Lift Shield in this blog post.
Fixing Gel is a water-soluble glue that you use to adhere the eyelashes to the shield to hold them in place whilst the lifting solutions process. It’s very sticky, meaning that you won’t have to worry about lashes pinging off your shield throughout the treatment. The perfect consistency creates a super thin film allowing the solutions to properly penetrate the entirety of the lash follicles.
You can’t be performing a Lash Filler treatment without your handy little tools, but what do you need in your lash lift kit to get the perfect results your clients want?
First, you will need your ‘Helper’. It’s a basic little tool but it will change your treatment entirely. This S-shaped comb is super easy to work with and the fine-toothed design helps to get the perfect lift from the root of the natural lashes and precise lash alignment on the silicone shield - one of the most crucial parts of the treatment! Try ‘The Helper 2.0’ for clients with very fine lashes.
Another option is the Fillering Tool. This does a similar job to the Helper, it just comes down to personal preference. However, we always recommend Lash Techs to have the Fillering Tool as it’s dual-ended and has an extremely fine tip, taking your precision to the next level even in the trickiest spots of the eye.
Last but not least, you will need a small, straight-cut brush for precise product application for which we recommend the Picasso Brush. This multifunctional lash brush will make all the difference to the final look of your lash lift treatment, it’s crucial that the product is used in the correct place only. Inaccurate application of Form 1 and Fix 2 can end up with your clients coming back disappointed. This brush can also be used for tinting the lashes, so it’s really a multifunctional tool. For the full collection of brushes for Lash Filler, check out the InLei® Art Collection Set of Professional Brushes.
Lash tinting can be the icing on the cake for any lash lift treatment, and is sometimes crucial in making the lashes pop and make the lash lift Before and After even more drastic.
Not every client will desire a lash tint at the end of treatment, but for those who love the bold and vibrant result, this lash kit addition is a must. Having a wide range of Tints for Lashes will make sure you never have to worry about client demands. To go alongside your tint, you will need a Developer Cream to mix with, and finally, alongside that, you will need a plastic Mixing Bowl, you never want to mix developer and tints in metal as this will oxidise your colour.
There you have it… absolutely everything you need in your lash lift kit! Of course, there may be bits and pieces that you pick up along the way, but it’s always a good idea to start with the basics.
