Creating Your Website

Having a website is essential for your lash business. Without a website, your online presence is pretty much non-existent outside of your social media (if you have any!). To create a website, you don't need to have any knowledge of coding or a degree in computer programming! You can simply create a website design for free using sites like Wix or Weebly

When creating your website think about your client’s journey. You don't want to overcomplicate your site. A simple website template that allows you to have a main page and photo gallery is PERFECT!

Creating Content For Your Website

So, how do you create the photographs to include in your website gallery?

*SPOILER ALERT* You do not need to hire a professional photographer and have a full on a photoshoot!

Simply organise a day where you invite round a client or friend and take photographs on your phone. All you need to do is ensure is that you have great lighting so that your lash photos come out clearly and appear professional. We recommend using a beauty light like a Glamcor light or a portable LED Light. The addition of a Clip on Phone Lens will also make sure that your lash photos are sharp and in focus.

After taking your photographs, do some basic touch-ups on them so that they're looking their best. We'd recommend using an app like Snapseed for this. Try to resist the temptation to over-edit your lash photos, just a slight skin re-touch/smooth over will make all the difference to the quality of your imagery. You can read more about how to avoid making the common mistakes Lash Techs make when taking their lash photos in our blog post here.

Use Your (Key)Words!

The terminology you use to advertise your lash services on your website is key. A client, especially a first time client, is unlikely to know the difference between a set of 3D and 4D Volume Lashes! Give your lash treatments names like “Natural Look Lashes” or “Mega Drama Lashes” so that your clients have a clearer understanding of what to expect appearance-wise for each eyelash extension style.

Competitive Market Research

Take some time now and again to do some research on your competitors, like other local Lash Techs in your area, or those who offer similar lash services to yours. Compare elements of your website to theirs and write down what you could improve on. Perhaps it's the quality of their lash photos? Maybe they have a more straightforward website journey? Whatever it is, make it a habit to check in and make necessary changes to improve your site to stay ahead of the game
