      What Are Coloured Eyelash Extensions?

Coloured lashes are beautifully vibrant lash extensions with bright pigments that can be used to create eye-catching lash sets. We know many Lash Techs tend to shy away from using coloured lash extensions, as they may feel there isn’t enough demand to make adding them to their stock worthwhile. However, offering coloured lashes gives your clients another way to personalise their look, particularly for summer parades, festivals and concerts.

Some clients may be keen to spice up their lash sets with colour but struggle to find a Lash Tech who offers the treatment. Give your clients the opportunity to express themselves in a fun and vibrant way. Coloured eyelash extension sets are incredible to look at and offer an exciting opportunity to get creative with your mapping.

      You Can Mix and Match!

The combinations you can use to add a pop of colour to a beautiful set of lashes are endless! For clients who want a more subtle hint of colour, mix black lashes with coloured lashes to create an understated, everyday look. You could also choose shades that complement your client’s natural eye colour.

To celebrate Pride Month, you could create a full rainbow set or add a personal touch using colours inspired by your client’s chosen Pride flag. Explore our brown and coloured eyelash extensions to find options for your next lash set.

How Do You Map Coloured Eyelash Extensions?

There are countless ways to map out your coloured lash sets. To get you started, we’ve provided some lash mapping ideas that you can adapt to your client’s preferences, eye shape and natural lashes.

      A Pop of Colour

This style is excellent for clients who are a little wary of trying coloured eyelash extensions for the first time but still want to experiment. You can easily tailor the placement to make the result as subtle or bold as your client would like.

To create this look, apply coloured lash extensions near the outer corner of the eye. To help prevent the appearance of gaps when using a lighter colour, place the coloured extensions on the bottom layer of the upper lash line, with darker lashes on the middle or top layers. This creates a darker backdrop that helps the colour stand out.

      Subtle Top Line

Applying coloured lashes to the top layer of natural lashes creates a hint of colour that becomes more noticeable when your client blinks or closes their eyes. You can vary how bold the set looks by experimenting with placement and suitable extension lengths across the different lash layers.

For a more visible result when the eyes are open, try placing coloured extensions on the bottom layer of the upper lash line. Choosing lengths that blend with the surrounding extensions creates a subtle accent, while slightly longer coloured extensions can make the colour more prominent. Always select lengths and weights that are suitable for your client’s natural lashes.

      Intermittent Spikes

An excellent way to incorporate a flair of colour into a wispy lash set is to add vibrant, colourful spikes throughout the design. You can adapt this technique for both classic lashes and Russian Volume lashes. Choose suitable individual extensions or fans according to your client’s natural lash strength and the finish you want to achieve.

Once you have mapped a style that will suit your client’s features and preferences, add coloured spikes at regular intervals for an evenly distributed effect. Distribute the spikes across suitable layers of the upper lash line to keep the colour balanced throughout the set.
